There’s is no doubt one of my big loves is interior design, but I do also love books.
I thank my parents for that, they have always been avid readers and always actively encouraged my sister and I to read too.
So it’s no surprise that I have a growing collection of interior design books at home.

A couple of weeks back, I posted about our visit to the distillery Archie Rose, read about it here.
It got me thinking about my bar at home. Now we were the lucky recipients of a Parker drinks trolley, all thanks to the brilliant Tony, a passionate mid century furniture restorer. We bought an amazing Parker dining table and chairs from him, see it in my post here, and he was kind enough to chuck in the drinks trolley for free.

Now I am not sure if you’ve worked it out yet, buy I am a complete and utter shopping nut. None more so then when it is for homewares.
I love some of the products available here in Australia, but find the same products find their way into all shops, meaning finding something a little bit different can be a challenge. That is why I turn a lot to Etsy.
But what about overseas stores?
We have been lucky in the last few years to have had some international homewares stores open their doors here, including West Elm, H&M and Zara Home. But while we wait for more to come, thank god for the internet!!!!

When I was growing up in England, wallpaper was the norm. We had it in every room in our house.
In the bedroom I shared with my sister, we had the popular (at the time anyway) embossed type which you could then paint your choice of colour. Being girls we had it pink, obviously!!!!
In our living room we have the chipped type, so it had little chips of wood embossed into it, again so you could just paint it your choice of colour. My sister and I used to like to pick the bits of wood out.
Why? You may ask.

I do love finding things that are a little bit different. while scouring the internet for products I find that quite a lot of stores are stocking the same things and I mean same, not even just similar.
So imagine my delight at finding Safari Fusion. Not a bit of rose gold, copper or marble to be seen. 😉 (not that I am not partial to some of these!!!)

I do love visiting the local hardware store and checking out paint chips. I cannot deny that I am a colour fan whether that be in my wardrobe or interiors.
Check out Dulux’s colour trend forecast for 2017 below.
Being a colour fanatic I am drawn to the bolder colours of the Chroma palette.
What do you think??
One thing I did notice is that maybe they jumped the gun a little as there wasn’t a single sign of Pantone’s colour of the year to be seen!!!
Now I know this is a ‘Interior Design’ blog, but I just couldn’t go passed sharing this local hero. Although not directly related to interiors, the inside of this place is gorgeous.
