I’m back. I know it’s been a little while since my last post.
We have been having a little spring clean. Hey it is Spring now, well at least here in Sydney!!!
The Fella is a bit of a messy little so and so. When the wardrobe door won’t slide because of bent up flip flops, letters and a bike puncture repair kit (god knows where the bike is being stashed!!!) a girl has to put her foot down and get him to tidy up some of his belongings.
We are getting our study / guest bedroom ready for a bit of an revamp and with other bits we have bought around the apartment, we are left with some excess. We have also been sorting out some of our older redundant bits and pieces of furniture and jumping on Gumtree to see if we can’t get a few bucks for it. So far, so good. The local charity shop has also been in luck with some clothes and books.
I don’t know about you but I love a spring clean. I not a fan of holding onto stuff that you have no use for. We live in a 2 bedroom apartment, although we are not bursting at the seams with belonging, things can still build up and then storage can be an issue. Don’t get me wrong I would never throw out something of sentimental value or a gift.
But anything else better watch out.
The Fella does get a bit frustrated by this need of mine. Especially when things that I thought we wouldn’t use have been needed later down the track.
And on more than one occasion the comment “You probably threw it out” has been casually tossed my way when something has gone missing. Ooops!!
Spring is a the traditional time to have a really good clean of you home. Open the windows and doors and let the fresh through after the colder months. Clean the nooks and crannies that are left forgotten and dusty at all other times. I am down with that, although not always a practitioner, just a preacher LOL!!!
Now don’t get me wrong, I am not dedicating a whole weekend to a massive manic clean. My plans for my Spring clean this year, once I have finished my selling on Gumtree, will be a series of smaller tasks.
Some jobs on the list included:
♦Washing the outdoor furniture cushions
♦Wiping down of windows frames
♦Clearing out my linen closet.
♦Cleaning the oven and fridge
I am sure things will added added along the way.
But if you are not sure where to start, then the domestic goddess Martha Stewart complied this handy printable task list as a guide.
This weekend, I am going to make a start on……….. well actually I am not. I know, I know way to go on the Spring clean, girl.
We are meeting some friends and heading to the Spring Night Markets at the Eveleigh Carriage Works here in Sydney. All manner of food and wine is here to tempt you to part with your hard earn lolly.
But don’t worry there is always next week end to get into that spring clean!! 😉
